From A Pastor (more pastoral references below):

I have had the great privilege of having Sylvia Lange share with us several times in our worship celebrations. Sylvia has a unique and wonderful testimony to go along with her incredible voice and stage presence. I have asked her to share her testimony and songs interspersed with my message and those services were very powerful and lives were changed. Sylvia has the ability to connect with people through word and song and her message is received well from all ages and backgrounds. I look forward to having her back many more times... Our people consider her “one of us” as she in a short period of time has become a favorite. She would be a wonderful blessing to any church and your people will sense the presence of God through her ministry.

FROM WOMEN’S LEADERS:

The women at our annual women’s Christmas Celebration were deeply touched by Sylvia’s message in words and songs. She has the wonderful gift of connecting with women and making them feel like she is someone they can trust. The women related to her testimony of a God who changes lives and offers new beginnings which prompted many women to make decisions for Christ. Sylvia is a pleasure to work with and we hated to see her leave at the end of our three day event!

Sylvia Lange has a compelling testimony and a professional presentation with a warm, transparent presence. The combination of her singing voice and her choice of songs draws the audience into connection with Jesus. She's a pleasure to work with--arrangements made with clarity and her presentation with a wonderful mix of humor, tenderness and a clear gospel message fulfilled our expectations.

I just wanted to quickly write to tell you that everyone LOVED you. You were so relatable and so open and honest. Thank you for sharing your story and your music. You touched many of us... me included. Thank you!

Sylvia is a breath of Divine air. Her love for the Lord splashes out with hope, victory and passion as she shares her "God-story" through testimony and song. Her beautiful voice displays God's glory, drawing the listener ever closer to the Beloved. What I truly admire about Sylvia besides her servant heart, gracious spirit and fun loving nature, is her undaunting desire to put the focus on God, not on herself. She uniquely has a wonderful balance of being professional and yet being a down-to-earth ordinary woman whose motivation is only and all for Jesus. It is my privilege to strongly recommend Sylvia - her message in word and song is needed in the church today.

Moms In Touch International

Behind the scenes, Sylvia is an absolute joy to work with. On the platform, her music and ability to connect with her audience has made her a Hearts At Home favorite. I highly recommend Sylvia for any event that needs an excellent musician with a ministry heart.

Jill Savage, President
Hearts at Home

My experience working with Sylvia Lange was first of all, so refreshing. Her heart and passion to minister to women was evident in everything she said or did. As I shared with her what our event was and what we felt God wanted to do in the event, she was quick to make it clear to me that she only wanted to enhance my vision. She was committed to praying for the event and making herself available to communicate and minister far before the event ever took place. I loved working with Sylvia. She is transparent, honest and passionate in what God has done in her life and she is quick to tell others about His amazing love. Not only is she a gifted musically but her gift of communication is a complement to her ministry. Her energy and passion comes right through and it is contagious. I would have Sylvia back again and again and I honestly don’t say that very often. Not only would I have her again, I would recommend her to everyone who wants a woman of heart, passion and authentic ministry at their event. Her ministry is not about her, it is ALL about Him.

(Sylvia is) really gifted at speaking as well as singing. She has got tons of charisma and a story that so many women readily identify with. I know there’s a lot of pain and scars that accompany that. But her testimony spoke loudly of God being our Redeemer – of how he rescues us from ourselves and miraculously births beauty and new life from our wounds. It is a story of hope.

FROM PASTORS:

I have had the pleasure of knowing Sylvia Lange for a couple of years. I met Sylvia while she was assisting our Worship Team through her “Dramatic Invisibility” workshop. Since that first interaction, we have invited Sylvia back to perform a special concert for our Celebrate Recovery program, and to lead worship for our regular weekend services.

Sylvia delivers her message about the transforming power of God with a style that is passionate, clear, and stark. She is engaging to hear, cutting right to the heart of the issues with tenderness and compassion. Sylvia is transparent in her candor, allowing the audience to see her inside her songs and stories, or one can leave the image of Sylvia in the background, as one’s own reflection begins to superimpose.

If you have an opportunity to have Sylvia share her story and her music, please take advantage of it. Sylvia is a joy to work with and a blessing to know. Moreover, the impact of Sylvia’s ministry on God’s children is life-changing.

From a letter sent to Sylvia:

You are endeared to us permanently. You blessed us immensely. Your transparency, refined ministry gifts and most of all genuineness of character indicated to me that suffering has purified you. People who’ve been obliterated a few times in life are the ones my heart answers to. I haven’t much soul resonation for the uninitiated.

May your daily quest of honesty be full of His grace. May your freedom increase. And thank you for touching ME personally along with my church family. The “Faith, hope and love” song (Not So Far Away) really graced my heart, and the Freedom song (I’m Free) – well, that was just volcanic.

And lastly, thank you for the way that you shared about child sponsorship. I feel that my congregation’s interest in missions in general increased by your classy, understated, yet impassioned appeal for kids of the third world.

Please let us know when you’re in the area. You have a standing spot on our platform any day.

Sylvia Lange is not only a brilliant vocalist and accomplished artist, she is a woman of tremendous integrity whose thorough commitment to sharing Christ is apparent to all who have the pleasure of hearing her sing. She is a consummate professional who elevates the musical level of those around her and serves as a role model to aspiring Christian musicians in terms of her abilities, personal character, and spiritual maturity. Perhaps my favorite aspect of working with Sylvia is her refreshing “non-diva” attitude – she is welcome to sing at EastLake Church any time she can fit us into her schedule!

Kevin McPeak, Music Director
Eastlake Community Church; Chula Vista, CA

From Sylvia’s own pastor:

As the pastor of a very large church (note: app. 12,000 attendees), it is often a tremendous challenge for me to know people who attend my church on a personal level. However, Sylvia Lange is a stand-out for many reasons.

Not only do I and the congregation admire her for her musical gifting, but we appreciate who she is at her core. She is a servant, a hard-worker, and a woman who just simply loves Jesus. This has shown itself in how she has invested herself into our ministries and our people on an individual level. Not only has she and her husband Wolf been part of a couples’ group for several years that stems from our church body, but she has been committed to our worship ministry (to the extent her touring schedule permits), has served in our “Sisters” women’s ministry, has made herself available to our Recovery ministry, and mentors a couple of the women in our church body.

I appreciate Sylvia and consider ourselves blessed to have her and her husband as members of this local church body.

FROM CONCERT ATTENDEES/FANS:
Thank you for the most inspiring retreat I have ever attended. I'm sure that for you I was just another face in the crowd, however, you truly changed my life over the course of that weekend. On Friday afternoon while the throngs of women were registering I caught a glimpse of a woman I thought absolutely beautiful and had 'it' all together. She seemed to 'glow' with confidence. Then as it turns out, that woman happened to be you!! As I listened to your stories and testimony I came to realize that ALL of us have a story and once again I want to thank you, Sylvia, for leading me to a renewal of my faith in our awesome God. I came away a truly changed women with many prayers answered. I have a long, long way to go but I now have great direction.

An attendee of a women's retreat where Sylvia spoke and gave a concert

Last year my wife was invited to a Saturday morning ladies’ meeting where (you) were performing. She must have enjoyed the concert although I couldn’t imagine why; because she brought home a couple of CDs. She began playing one of them regularly while we dressed for work in the morning: Not So Far Away. The album caught my ear the first time I heard it. The second time, it broke my heart.

So now I listen and cry. It means so much to me that I ration how often I listen to it. You have the voice of an angel, for heaven’s sakes, and where can you get such songs except from God? Do you know me? Did you get your hands on a secret file about my life? 8 years as income tax auditor and I didn’t cry once- not when others cried, not when (my former wife) announced she was leaving; not when I was forced to leave my job in disgrace - not really. There was anger, and uh...

Your album, by the way, regularly displaces Michael Buble’, Nora Jones, and Frank Sinatra. Eventually I searched out the CD jacket to see what an angel must look like. Amazing. You look like us. Calling that “music” is like calling Yosemite “geography”. There is no possible way a self-propelled person can create something like this. There isn’t even a glow around your head. How can you look like us? That really is amazing.

You don’t have to reply to this. I just want to thank you, to commend you for outstanding work, and provide some feedback about the powerful impact it has on me.

I was at your performance at Hope Chapel on Saturday…. I had to write you a quick note to let you know that your voice was angelic!! When you sang the song of faith, hope, and love (note: “Not So Far Away”)...I looked around my table and everyone was crying, including me. (You) have touched our lives, and it was so incredibly wonderful. You are a making a difference in our lives, and your songs are music to our souls. Everyone I spoke with afterward had amazing things to say about you. Please share this email with everyone you know and many thanks for a wonderful concert! From a new fan

FROM OTHERS:

When I work with an artist, one of my goals is to understand their heart. For me, this is the most important element, which allows this process of making music have a long and lasting impact on the listener. I believe this goal has been achieved as I have worked with Sylvia. A troubled past with a secure future is what is being communicated through the transparency of Sylvia's heart through the songs that have been chosen and the way she sings them.
